FRESH FACES
I started getting acne when I was in high school, around 15 or 16 years old, and honestly, it never really went away. Things got worse when I was in nursing school. The stress was intense, and my breakouts became more severe.
I tried everything—switching face washes, testing out every serum and mask I could find. I even went for monthly facials and experimented with red light therapy. Nothing really stuck. It was a long, frustrating journey.
BEFORE
AFTER
When I began working at Skin Laundry as a registered nurse, I still had acne. But I felt hopeful for the first time in a while. I decided to try the Signature Laser Facial because I knew it was specifically designed to target acne by killing the bacteria and dirt trapped deep in the skin. I stayed consistent with my treatments, and around six months ago, I started seeing real results.
My acne began to clear, which made me so happy. But the pigmentation on my cheeks and deeper scarring on my temples remained. Even though the breakouts were subsiding, my skin still didn’t feel clear or glowing. It was discouraging. I had been doing everything right and staying consistent, but I still didn’t feel confident. I often covered my skin with heavy makeup—foundation, powders, whatever it took to hide the scarring and discoloration.
That’s when I started the Power Resurfacing Facial, and I truly believe it made the biggest difference. I’ve been doing it for the past two months, and I could see smoother texture almost immediately—especially on my cheeks and temples. People started complimenting my skin just days after my first session. I wasn’t expecting that at all.
The Power Resurfacing Facial targets texture issues like scarring, which is exactly what I needed. After just a few treatments, I saw dramatic changes. And the best part? I now feel confident enough to go out without any makeup. No foundation, no concealer—just my vitamin C serum, moisturizer and SPF. That’s something I never thought I’d be able to do.
These days, I do not even think about wearing makeup. I can go out, spend time with friends, and I actually get compliments on my skin. That is something I never thought would happen. For so long, I struggled with breakouts and texture issues, and no one ever commented on my skin—in fact, I used to work hard to cover it up. So to hear people notice how clear and healthy it looks now feels like a huge shift. This is truly the clearest my skin has looked in years.
For the first time, I feel comfortable walking out of the house without foundation or concealer. I am no longer checking the mirror constantly to see if something is flaring up or if a blemish is visible. I can just get ready, put on some vitamin C serum, moisturizer and SPF, and go about my day feeling confident and free. That freedom—of not hiding behind makeup or worrying what people see—is something I had been craving for years.
At work, I try to be as open and honest as possible with clients about my skincare journey. I share what my skin used to look like, and I even show them my before photos. I want people to know that I am not just recommending Skin Laundry treatments—I am getting them, too. I am still working on my skin and understand firsthand what it is like to feel frustrated or discouraged by slow progress.
I talk about my journey often, especially with clients who are dealing with similar skin concerns. It feels good to say, “I have been there,” and truly mean it. Because I have. And I want them to know they are not alone.
