I started my skin journey with Skin Laundry to try to treat my pigmentation and melasma. I had perfectly clear skin, but as I started getting older, I began to see brown patches all over my face.
It was really hard on me because I had never had skin issues my entire life and to deal with it at this age was quite depressing. It lowered my confidence and I didn’t want to do much, like go out with friends without piling on a ton of makeup. It really made me sad and I just wanted to be at home and crawl under the bed. I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror when I stared at my reflection every morning.

I’ve got melanin-rich skin, so I was looking for a solution for my type of complexion. I consulted with a dermatologist, but they ultimately made my skin worse. In fact, a reputable dermatologist used a laser that was supposed to help the melasma, but it did the opposite. I developed burn marks from that laser, which was quite traumatic. My skin was bad, but it became even worse. At that point, I felt there was no solution and it took a huge toll on my confidence, well-being and happiness. I felt very helpless.

Skin Laundry came highly recommended by a friend of mine, but when I first went in, I had no faith...I thought no one could help me. I never intended to use another laser on my face after the mess that the other one made but the Skin Laundry team assured me the Signature Laser was gentle and safe for my skin type. They were confident that it would help me so I gave it a try and I haven’t looked back.
It took a huge toll on my confidence, well-being, and happiness.
I started with the Signature Laser Facial once a week and used the Tranexamic Acid Serum at home. I started noticing results about three months into the program. I could see a definite difference in my skin, the scarring from the previous laser completely disappeared and I didn’t have to wear that much makeup anymore.
I’ve been with Skin Laundry for two years and I will continue going. Now, it’s mainly maintenance. I go once a month, it takes 15 minutes, there’s no downtime and it incorporates easily into my lifestyle. I also wear sunblock religiously, every day, rain or shine. I am more aware of how sensitive my skin is to the sun, being so rich in melanin, and I’ve learned to take better care of it.

I never thought that it would work, but I was ecstatic when I saw the melasma was gone. I’m very grateful to Skin Laundry. My face is everything because I’ve got a job that faces a lot of people. I used to hide under a ton of makeup because of the damage that was done previously but, when I saw the improvement, I felt ready to face the world again.

When I look at pictures of my skin when I started at Skin Laundry compared to now, I would say I’m 90% back to my old self. It was quite a journey, as melasma does not go away overnight. It took a while, but I persevered and I was consistent.
I was ecstatic when I saw the melasma was gone. I felt ready to face the world again.
I am so happy that I’ve got my skin and confidence back. I feel like every day I’m with Skin laundry, I see improvements. The results surpassed my expectations. I’m the person I was meant to be.
